CRUISE REVIEW - HAWAII & ALASKA CRUISEPosted 3 June 2005
![]() Dear Les,
Rod and I would like to express our thanks to you and to Cruisemart for our wonderful cruise recently to Hawaii and Alaska on Carnival Spirit.
Firstly, the wedding went off beautifully with no hitches in getting to Maui on time. The Pursor on board knew all about us and we were able to disembark, catch the connecting flight from Kauaii to Maui and then reboard the ship the next day with no problems whatsoever.
We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise itself, we found that all the staff onboard Carnival Spirit were friendly and attentive. The food was great (we came back at least 5kg heavier) and our cabin was superb. We were very pleased we opted for a balcony cabin as this proved fabulous particularly cruising through Alaska.
Our only down was that we found the American customs, particularly in Vancouver extremely rude and unpleasant. After being fingerprinted and photographed at least 3 times during our trip together with their rudeness, we came away feeling like we were "the enemy". I am sure Americans would not like to be treated that way when they come to Australia.
So, that was our only concern and we thought you might be interested to know that.
We note that you are advertising a cruise with Holland American to South America in early December 2005. We would very much like to do another cruise next year, either one similar to that to South America or to the Mediterranean (one that includes Venice and Santorini). So I will keep an eye on your weekly email newsletter, but should you hear of something that may interest us please let us know. We would greatly appreciate it.
Once again, many thanks we had the most wonderful holiday and fabulous memories.
Warm regards, Kim and Rod Venaglia
