Hi Karen,

Just a line to let you know we got home safe and sound...and to say thank you for the lovely flowers which we received in our cabin onboard Pacific Princess, it was a lovely surprise. (photo attached)

The Hotel in Cape Town was supurb! But sadly South Africa is not the place we remembered from when we lived there in the 60's.

We enjoyed the social life on board, but the general opinion of many guests was that the catering standard onboard the ship has declined since it was taken over by Carnival. The weather was quite cool and rough seas at times. However, our table companions at dinner were great and we formed a formidable team of 6 for the daily "Trivia" general knowledge quiz and left the ship loaded with travel clocks and prizes (which will come in handy as raffle prizes at our Senior Citizens Centre). Between us we also won 13 of the 15 medals for table tennis. The cruise staff were surprised as there had never been such keen interest in table tennis on previous cruises.

Thanks once again for the flowers, and next time we think of cruising we'll certainly contact you. Maybe the Marco Polo next time....we have heard such good reports of it.
