CRUISE REVIEW - PACIFIC PRINCESS

Posted 31 Dec 04

Hi all,

Just returned from my second trip on the Pacific Princess this year, she is certainly a beautiful ship.   I travelled with a girlfriend in an outside cabin with porthole, previously going in a twin balcony cabin, definitely if you can afford it the balcony is the way to go, the interior of the cabins are the same size, just the balcony makes it so much bigger.

The food was as I remembered it, just fantastic and beautifully presented, the wines a little more expensive than the Pacific Sky, and the 10% on the bar bill makes up for the tips I guess, however the average price was around $28.00.   With the tipping $6.50 per person per day was added to your bill, if you did not want to go with this you could cancel it and do your own thing with the crew of your choice, (which we did).

A very unhurried trip, always plenty of room at the pool and shows, not much queuing at all. On both trips very few children, 10 - 12 in all, so if you are after a quiet time, this is for you. The ports are all the same, if I ever go to Poum or Luganville again (already twice) it will be too soon, my only complaint with the itinerary is the accent on small hardly inhabited islands, with the exception of Wala, an amazing place.

I think next time I will try the Tahitian Princess, just for the different ports

Had a great time, recommend this ship to anyone over 30.

Regards Sharyn
